Government announces a new Code of Conduct for Mortgage Prepayment Information
The Honourable Ted Menzies, Minister of State (Finance) announces new measures taken by the Government of Canada to protect consumers of financial products.
As part of this initiative, the government introduced a voluntary code of conduct for mortgage prepayment information. The purpose of the Code is to ensure that enhanced information in respect of mortgages is available to assist borrowers in making decisions about mortgage prepayment.
