Consultations

The Commissioner will, on occasion, seek the views of our stakeholders regarding important internal processes that affect the industry as a whole. Below is a description of the consultation processes undertaken by the Compliance and Enforcement Branch in order to gather the industry's opinion on various compliance issues.

The Compliance and Enforcement Branch consultation reports identify key recommendations brought forward by the industry, which are taken into consideration in the branch's analysis.

General objectives of a consultation process

The key objectives are:

  • to benefit from the expertise of stakeholders when assessing and analyzing risk issues
  • to obtain comments and views on the potential impact of any proposed changes
  • to promote public and industry understanding of the role and work of FCAC
  • to increase transparency with stakeholders regarding FCAC's activities
  • to collect and assess concerns with respect to any proposed changes and determine whether further changes might be needed.
